Es una exposición colectiva formada por diez artistas que trabajan con el dibujo y la pintura como medio. Partiendo de esta idea, del genero más artesanal o más tradicional, se muestran las distintas obras realizadas por los diferentes creadores.

Lex dimensions, como título de esta exposición aborda diferentes dimensiones de dicho medio, siendo una vía para contar una historia, unas circunstancias concretas.

De las dimensiones, en castellano, a les dimensions, tanto en catalán como en francés, derivo a Lex (con “x” ) enfatizándolo, agrandándolo; lex, como tal, viene a significar extensión del borde de ataque, es el reflejo y como queremos definir esta exposición, como los distintos bordes de ataque con los que asume una realidad dentro del medio elegido.

Tanto la pintura como el dibujo están muy presentes en el discurso artístico contemporáneo, con distintos formatos, reconstruyéndose o formando parte de otra percepción espacial e incluso funcionando como referencia de otros medios.

Los diez artistas tratan lo narrativo desde distintos puntos de vista personales, como una explicación de lo que les rodea e incluso jugando con las limitaciones del propio formato.

En la obra de Gloria Martín se apela a un imaginario colectivo, a través de un juego de símbolos, metáforas y la manipulación del tiempo y el espacio.

Temas de subculturas urbanas, expresiones de cultura popular, sobre todo cómics, del artista Francesc Ruiz; las vivencias y sensaciones de Chuso Ordi, a veces enmascaradas en fantasías futuristas, otras veces con iconografía más cercana, o simplemente por un interés por la narración poética.

Conocer la tradición y reinterpretarla, cortar y pegar, como un mapa donde Ramón David Morales explora todo tipo de relatos, en estas obras, el de la cultura rural, lugar donde se crea el perfecto mestizaje entre tradición y modernidad. O la pieza “Friday” de Aitor Lajarín, como el estudio y observación de un lugar, situación o caso concreto, “rastros “ que se han borrado y las “ pistas” nos invitan a pensar en las conclusiones.

La fragilidad en las geometrías de Ana H. Del Amo como algo que surge del inconsciente, dibujos que al agruparlos nos sugieren acotaciones, perfiles o recorridos, donde lo delicado y lo expresivo se unen en cada trazo.

Los recursos pictóricos de Susana Ibáñez, sus gabinetes de curiosidades, a modo de colección heterodoxa de imágenes, procedentes de diversos sitios, ya sea el arte, de su imaginario, de la televisión, cine o internet; para surtir su ideario visual.

Por otro lado, están los mapas tamponados de Montse Carreño, donde materializa los testimonios de un trayecto filtrado y esquematizado a través del dibujo para constituir un conjunto de emblemas de viaje: de elementos de intensidad convertidos en tampones.

La desestructuración de las pinturas de Guillermo Mora, cuestionándolas como género, explorando y expandiendo sus soportes. Estas “aspiraciones a pinturas” reinventan las formas en que se crea, pero también los modos en que se percibe.

O las pinturas de Carol Antón, que se salen del plano del cuadro para formar parte del espacio en forma de escenografía. Una instalación de dibujos y pinturas donde el espectador no tiene restringido un único punto de vista.

Una exposición heterogénea, de diferentes artistas que comparten un nexo común, pero cuyas obras son dispares. La intención es mostrar al espectador las posibilidades, variedades, diversidades que adopta esta herramienta que utilizan los diferentes creadores para mostrar sus obsesiones, intenciones o una historia que se les escapa.

The first date is at 19:30h in the gallery Corretger5, at the same street and number of its name, just besides Princesa street. There you can see the work of Marcela Gutierrez in a special project made for the occasion: “Four years of METAL magazine: A personal view by Marcela Gutiérrez”. Marcela reinterprets some of the most celebrated pictures that we have published over these years, photographs by regular contributors like Daniel Sannwald, Xevi Muntané, Nico, Miguel Villalobos or Frederic Bastin.

Mr. Bluku play the music and there is where Tanqueray is going to delighted us with these gintonics that we love.

About eleven or half past eleven we collect belongings because we are going to The Metal Box! Mr. Bluku will be again in the cabine with another classic in our sessions, Jared, better known as Pffff. Kipling also will welcome all our guests with a small gift (while supplies last).

[MATERIAL COMPUTATION WORKSHOP]

The present workshop inaugurates a new series of events dedicated to digital architecture and fabrication processes. This time we will be hosting students from the University of Patras [Greece] / Faculty of Architecture for an introduction into parametric thinking and material computation.

Designing material systems is blurring the limits between computation and physical form. A set of input parameters is needed in order for complex geometries and conditions to be elaborated. Parametric thinking causes a  shift in the way a designed object is conceived through  downscaling the system into elementary units. Thinking parametrically makes objects be generated by an internal mathematical logic based upon numbers and algorithms, instead, or on top, of  the traditional conceptual procedures.

In this workshop the use of parametrically designed catenary geometries made up from repetitive components will generate inverted topographies evocative of Gaudi’s models. Further parametric correlations will be based on synesthetic translations between images and form.

” The catenary model is an example of material computation, essentially self-calculating, resolving through feedback multidimensional forces acting on the linked field of strands and weights… As any scientist dealing with dynamics of material systems will tell you, the material field will always generate richer and more singular expressions than the programs derived from them will produce. Thus, there will always be a place for the analog in structural experimentation.”

[PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPOSITES & THE PLAY OF PERCEPTION]

The present show marks the inauguration of a new circle of exhibitions dedicated to the study of the key factors that come into play throughout the process of visual perception.
Distance, density, geometry and scale will be the elemental subjects of this research.
Such a primal approach on visuality may lead to a variety of interaction levels: from the mere affirmation of compositional common sense to unknown grounds of emotional arousal

Our eyes, rest upon the images, relaxing and observing; always on the hunt for clues or fragments.
A swift shadow, an empty territory or even a trace of nature, all of these are elemental visual hints that relate one as a human with the depicted environment. Whether natural or man made, imaginary or real, these representations trigger a mechanism of self positioning within a space, thus allowing for such an illusive experience to take place in the mind of the viewer.
Within his creative agony, the artist is on the lookout for a volatile shadow or light, subtle qualities that amount to that “grand” moment.
The images then become vessels that carry us on a singular journey to a fictitious emplacement, a sacred individual experience witnessed by all.

The concept
HOOKAHEY was founded back in May, 2009 as a forward thinking brand
based on long-lived trends. The founder trio consists of Armin Lang
and Jochen Schader, two German fashion business men and of Henrik
Holbech, a Danish manufacturing expert.
By getting on well-established Anika Schmitt as design responsible, we
aim to enhance the wardrobe of any woman or man looking for favourite
pieces, flattering fits, and original stylish designs.

The design
Creative colour combinations as well as the playful shapes of garments
and fabrics form the basic characteristics of HOOKAHEY`s designs.
HOOKAHEY is all about authenticity and originality, offering easy to
mix and match pieces to help women and men create their own, individual
style: “We want the consumer to be the protagonist – therefore we
observe what people are asking for and what they dream of.”
The collection
This winter collection has already grown in pieces and counts well over
100 styles. We included more clothes for men, plenty for women and a
bigger bag and accessories selection. All the jersey garments are made
from natural fibres as organic cotton, bamboo and soy jersey, which are
100% biodegradable.
For this fall/winter collection, the flair of London had a strong impact on
the designer’s inspiration. The pulse of the City is incredible, but at the
same time there is a very British sentiment for the past.
This creates a fertile ground for both the invention and – sometimes more
interesting – the reinvention of fashion styles. There is an extraordinary
mix of vintage and new products that has its origins in England. In this
collection, 50s, 60s, and 80s styles are mixed with 21st century urban
styles. Being transferred through Anika’s typical handwriting, they shape
Hookahey’s first fall/winter collection.

In 1981, David Valls, unveiled its first men’s collection during Barcelona Fashion week (Gaudi). Seven years later, his first women’s collection followed tha same success. Along these years, David Valls has presented his collection in the main runway shows of Barcelona.
His rapid international expansion because of his uniqueness and quality of products have led his collections to showcase in the windows of the world’s most prestigious specialty stores such as: L’ Eclaireur (Paris), Selfridges (London), Beams (Japan)…

PHILOSOPHY
David Valls continues to lead design and creativity with his his daughter who has been working with him over the past five years. Ingrid Valls is true to the value of the brand to her father/mentor who has taught her and influenced her along the years.

Esta exposición expresa cómo los códigos de identificación registran e imprimen la historia, nuestra historia, en un viaje a través de inocentes mensajes esenciales.

Esta exposición está integramente fabricada en el laboratorio de fabricación digital FAB LAB BCN con maquinas de corte por láser.
Todo el trabajo producido hasta la actualidad por la artista nu diaz, como sus cuadros de luz, fueron realizados con técnicas artesanales a través de la transferencia de trazos sobre tela o papel.
En esta, su ultima produccion, la gestacion de su obra se produce a través de procesos digitales, mediante la transferencia de trazos a codigos numéricos, que al igual que en las piezas de papel, son interpretados por una maquina de corte de laser, eliminando materia mecanicamente para permitir el paso de la luz.
